Environment

The Padua Golf Club is located in the Euganean Hills Regional Park.

The Euganean Hills Regional Park, approximately 18,694 hectares in area, was established in 1989 identifying an area of great geomorphological interest, characterized by hills of volcanic origin formed about 35 million years ago (Oligocene). Mount Venda, at 601 m. above sea level, is the highest in the formation.

The Park, inhabited by man since the Lower Paleolithic, contains interesting archaeological sites, nature and ethnographic museums.

15 municipalities (Abano Terme, Arquà Petrarca, Baone, Battaglia Terme, Cervarese Santa Croce, Cinto Euganeo, Este, Galzignano Terme, Lozzo Atestino, Monselice, Montegrotto Terme, Rovolon, Teolo, Torreglia, Vò) are located in the Park area that, in addition to the environmental value, offers suggestive views on medieval fortifications, ancient stone villages, Venetian villas, historic gardens, hermitages and monasteries, wrapped in the silence and peace of valuable vineyards. And it is Diana’s Gate, the main entrance via water to Villa Barbarigo and its monumental garden, that provides the backdrop for the iconic Hole 2 of the Yellow Course.

The park’s wooded area is dominated by Mediterranean scrub, chestnut and oak groves. More than 200 trails make up its exploratory network, 17 of which are equipped with appropriate hiking signs. The nearby hotel accommodation and restaurants are excellent.

The Padua Golf Club, which covers an area of 78 hectares, is also a real park with a tree heritage that, in addition to being representative of the value and naturalistic beauty of the site, is an absolutely valuable resource for soil protection, improvement of air quality and microclimate.
